About Four Positive Paws

Where can I buy a puppy from?-Rescue organisations often have pups. One of my rescue dogs came from a rescue. He was 8 weeks old and now he is 8 years old and a wonderful boy.

What should I avoid if I am looking for a puppy? The internet and local papers.

How long will it take to change my Dogs Behaviour? - it depends on the behaviour, how long it has been practiced for and the individual Dog

What are the benefits of a one to one session? You get 100% of my time and the session is 100% focused on you and your dog.

What if I want to socialise my dog, how does a one to one work in that situation? Socialisation is about your puppy or dog having positive experiences in other dogs company. The session is in a suitable public place and I often bring along one or two of my own dogs. This allows your dog to meet and greet in a safe environment, build skills for real life and gain confidence.

Why don't you do dog training classes in a village hall? I prefer to use real life places and spaces for you and your dog to learn in. There are many opportunities to learn good skills while out on a walk including walking on a loose lead, good socialisation, crossing roads safely and meeting and greeting people with paws on the floor.

Do you ever do training in an indoor venue? Yes. The training would be for pet dog owners and people that are involved and work with dogs. It is an ideal way to learn and have fun without the distraction or pressure of having a dog with you. You get the chance to focus on the content of the talk or workshop and can take away useful skills and knowledge to put into practice when you get home and are in a real life environment with your dog.

What sort of talks and workshops can you do? A variety that include loose lead walking, aggression and reactivity, canine communication, stress awareness and reduction, barking and problem solving to name but a few.

What can I expect from Four Positive Paws?  Positive progress with up to date information and principles, respect and integrity.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Try something different that is interesting for you and your dog that gives you the opportunity to understand why your dog behaves the way he does, to develop good behaviour and enjoy all that is great about dog companionship.
